Remits
The
remits of the new Committees are as follows:-
Community Committee – care in the community/joint futures, offender
services, care of the elderly, assistance of the chronically sick and disabled, care
establishments, housing (in its evolved form), cemeteries, community facilities, community
use of schools, libraries, sport, cultural services, promoting empowerment of citizens and
communities, community support and liaison.
Environment Committee – transportation, street care, planning and
building control, environmental health, cleansing, consumer protection, civic licensing,
national park, consumer protection, emergency planning, flood prevention and property
maintenance.
Economy Committee – urban re-generation, rural development, economic
development, tourism, pre-fives, management of the school system, youth services, adult
and continuing education and the care and protection of children. |
